M.K. Kim

Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Kim draws from over 20 years of experience in managing companies through critical start-up or turnaround situations and coordinating rapid-growth market expansions for global companies. Before the current chairmanships of SMI Global and SMI-Hyundai, Mr. Kim managed and nurtured a series of SMI group of companies and other global companies doing business in project and project finance management, information technologies, manufacturing, and logistics in Korea, Australia, and the U.S. In 1997, Mr. Kim was the recipient of the Businessman of the Year award from the prime minister of Korea. Mr. Kim holds a bachelor's degree in International Business and a master's degree in International Marketing from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. He has completed the doctorate program in International Economics and studied Executive Studies at Georgetown University. He was also a visiting scholar to American University.
